Our Cheese Making Classes
The alyce alexandra cheese making class will bring a taste of true gourmet into your home kitchen. These classes will be guest presented by the amazing Tamara Newing (of Tamara’s Kitchen fame), who has years of experience in creating unbelievable artisan hand-made cheeses, with five hugely successful cookbooks under her belt, her own cooking school, and her brand of gourmet cheese — Boatshed Cheese — being sold in gourmet providores across Australia. Now with her help, you will be making impressive homemade cheeses from scratch in no time.
In this three and a half hour class, you will learn the basics of homemade cheese production, and how to put your new skills into use: we’ll be making delicious French-style brie, a range of lactic goat cheese including curd, feta, and Provencal goat logs and pyramids, and an amazingly fresh cow’s milk ricotta. While you will take your own creations home to mature, during the class you will sample a selection of Tamara’s famous cheeses with fresh homemade bread, as well as enjoying a gourmet meal made before your eyes and served with fresh warm ricotta.
Our classes are relaxed and intimate, with our cheese class catering for only 20 people or less. Sit back and enjoy a glass of wine, champagne, tea or coffee while sampling all the delicious homemade food on offer. Our presenters are always open for questions, and will be teaching you many useful cooking tips and tricks along the way. There will be a booklet containing all the recipes presented and tasted for everyone who attends.
