Best Thermomix Omelette Recipe

It's been 19 years since I first cooked in a Thermomix machine (back then it was a TM21!)... and after all that time I feel pretty confident I've left no stone unturned. If there was a way to do something quicker and easier than the conventional method using the Thermomix, I am all over it! But one area I've never felt has been fully utilised is the Varoma... sure it's great for classic steaming, but I've always felt it could be used for more. Dishes that involved sauces, marinades and eggs for example. I eat a lot of eggs (I have my own chickens who live their best life with me), but I always cook my eggs on the stove. So for years now we've been working on the perfect accessory to really open up the Varoma steaming tray to so many more dishes... and we've finally done it! And honestly, it's got me using my Thermomix at home so much more... which I didn't think was possible 😱. I'm a little bit obsessed actually! And one of the recipes that’s got me obsessed is this omelette. It couldn’t be easier to do, it’s completely foolproof and the result is omelette perfection! Watch this quick video and let me show you…

How easy was that! You’re going to love it… but you’ll need one of our Steaming Mats for Varoma first! Available exclusively from us…

Ingredients

1 cup approx. chopped broccolini and kale (although you can use other quick-cooking veggies like spinach, beans, capsicum, peas, mushrooms and tomatoes)
4 free-range eggs
1 tsp alyce’s flavour bomb salt (or 1/2 tsp regular salt, but flavour bomb is so much better!)
50g cream, milk or water
50g grated cheese (I use mozzarella)

Method

  1. Fill TC bowl with 500ml water. Place lid on, and top with steaming tray / Varoma. Position steaming mat on upper steaming tray. Spread veggies out evenly across steaming mat.
  2. In a small bowl or jug roughly whisk together eggs, salt and cream/milk/water. I simply use a fork for this. Pour egg mixture over vegetables on steaming mat. Sprinkle with grated cheese. You can see all these steps in the video above!
  3. Steam for 13 minutes, steaming (Varoma) temperature, speed 4.

Breakfast is ready! I love serving this omelette on a crusty slice of homemade sourdough. And you’ve only got your Steaming Mat and small jug to wash up - your Thermomix machine and Varoma simply need drying. It really couldn’t be easier!
