Balsamic reduction is a must-have for making a simple salad spectacular – it will transform the taste of your least-favourite fruits and veggies, making them a covetable choice instead of a chore. If you don’t have any on hand, dress this salad with lemon juice or plain balsamic vinegar.

Red onion, peeled and thinly sliced

Can brown lentils, drained
