Baos might be one of those things you thought you’d never cook at home, but really they are easier than they look! Just make sure you get started on this recipe early as the dough does take a while to rise. They’re a great way to use up leftover meat and veggies, as a little bit goes a long way inside these soft and fluffy buns.

White sugar or Caster sugar
Oil (Rice bran, Macadamia, Grapeseed,
Dried yeast
Baking powder
Fine salt
Cooked meat or Tofu, shredded or Thinly sliced
(Korean beef ribs, Char siu, Barbecued duck,
Steamed chicken, Pork belly, Fried tofu)
Vegetables, shredded or thinly sliced
(Pickled salad, Kimchi-kraut, Cabbage, Cucumber,
Fresh herbs (Mint, Coriander, Thai basil, Vietnamese mint)
Sesame seeds
Hoisin sauce
