A fruit paste rounds out a cheese platter so perfectly, adding a delicious morsel of fragrant sweetness. While quince paste is by far the most common, plum paste is equally delicious, and much easier to make! A perfect batch cook when plums are at their peak, it will cost you cents on the dollar to cook at home and you’ll have a taste of summer to last throughout the cooler months. It doesn’t matter what variety you use, just look for the ones that look best. I also love this recipe for edible gifting – wrap bars in baking paper and secure with twine or set paste in little pots or jars.
