Super-healthy Thermomix Burger Buns Recipe (Grain Free!)

These burger buns are both DELICIOUS and NUTRITIOUS! What a combo… and I reckon no matter what eating regime you’re following, these will tick all the boxes. Gluten free, grain free, dairy free, egg free, soy free, nut free, low carb, keto, the list goes on! Because we’ve got a thermo cooker we can mill our seeds and other ingredients up fresh, rather than purchasing pre-milled ingredients which are often stale (at best!) and rancid (at worst!). And without getting into too much detail, I think your insides are REALLY going to like these rolls…the psyllium husks act as little brooms sweeping out your intestines ☺️ Whip up a batch and let us know what you think! 💚

50g flaxseeds
60g psyllium husks
80g coconut flour
35g pumpkin seeds
30g chia seeds
30g sesame seeds
10g coconut sugar
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
50g coconut oil
400g warm water
Extra sesame seeds, for topping (optional)


  1. Preheat oven to 200C.
  2. Place 20g flaxseeds into TC bowl, mill for 30 seconds, speed 9. Transfer to a small bowl and add 80g water. Stir and set aside.
  3. Without cleaning TC bowl, add psyllium husks, mill for 1 minute, speed 10.
  4. Add coconut flour, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, sesame seeds, remaining 30g flaxseeds, coconut sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix for 10 seconds, speed 7. Set aside.
  5. Place coconut oil in TC bowl, warm for 2 minutes, 50C, speed 1.
  6. Add warm water and set-aside flaxseed mixture, mix for 5 seconds, speed 3.
  7. Add set-aside coconut and seed flour, mix for 7 seconds, speed 6.
  8. Using damp hands, smooth and shape dough into 5 buns, spray with water and sprinkle with sesame seeds (if using). See photo above.
  9. Placed on lined baking tray (ideally lined with a reusable silicone baking mat!) and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until rolls are browned on outside and a soft crust has formed.

Done! Delicious rolls are ready for your fillings. And you’ll need amazing! Trust us ;)
