A couple of years ago Vorwerk announced that, for safety, the TM6 Measuring Cup (also known as the MC) cannot be used when cooking at high temperatures, and that instead you should put your Thermomix steamer basket on top of your machine when cooking. Pretty impractical! Well, we have a solution. The Clear MC is the MC for all Thermomix cooking, no matter the temperature or the speed, while being completely safe with no risk of pressure build up. When you are done, run it through the dishwasher or quickly rinse it in the sink, much easier than washing your whole steamer basket. Even if you do not have a TM6 measuring cup and the associated safety issues, a spare MC is never a bad thing. It is also our favourite accessory when making mayonnaise, smoothies and juices, separating eggs, and juicing lemons straight onto the Thermomix lid.

Can I use the Clear MC when cooking above 95°C?
Yes. Unlike the tight-fitting black TM6 cup, the Clear MC sits loosely in the lid so steam still escapes and no pressure can build up, which makes it safe to leave in place at high temperatures.
Is the Clear MC interchangeable with the Splash Cap?
The Clear MC and the Splash Cap are interchangeable in that both let you cook safely above 95°C. Reach for the Clear MC when you are mixing above speed 8, or to keep the original recipe timings and texture; reach for the Splash Cap when you want a little reduction (the Splash Cap is not suitable above speed 8).
