why we ♥ it:

A couple of years ago Vorwerk announced that for safety, the TM6 Measuring Cup (also known as the MC) cannot be used when cooking at high temperatures... and that instead you should put your TM steamer basket on top of your Thermomix machine when cooking (more information here). Pretty impractical huh?! Well, we've got a solution! Introducing our Splash Cap, a little gadget you can place on your TC lid when cooking at high temperatures which will catch all the splashes keeping your kitchen clean, all while being completely safe with no risk of pressure build up. When you're done, run it through the dishwasher or quicky rinse in the sink - much easier than washing your whole TM steamer basket.

Even if you don't have a TM6 measuring cup and the associated safety issues, we love our Splash Cap as it's easier to clean than the MC and takes up less room in the dishwasher... and is also convenient to have on hand when we can't find the MC (we've all been there!). It also makes a handy lemon juicer (more on that below), and is perfect to pour over your oil when making mayonnaise from scratch.

how to use: 

Simply place on the Thermomix lid instead of the measuring cup, steaming basket or splash guard when cooking or mixing - easy! Our Splash Cap does not lock into the mixing bowl lid, so that no pressure can build up at any time. The two side wings are perfect for being able to grip and move the Splash Cap with two fingers if necessary. Not suitable for use above speed 8.
