How to Perfectly Poach Eggs in your Thermomix

How to Perfectly Poach Eggs in your Thermomix

Eggs Benedict, Florentine, or Royale—no matter your preference, a perfectly poached egg can elevate any dish from ordinary to extraordinary... even a simple salad or pasta. However, mastering the art of poaching eggs can be a daunting task, and even if you've got the skill, doesn't mean you've got the time or undivided attention. Enter our two new products - our Four and Six Egg Poacher Inserts for your Thermomix machine, designed to make poaching eggs such a breeze, you can even have a shower while they're cooking!

Understanding our Egg Poachers for your Thermomix: Alyce Alexandra's egg poachers are ingeniously crafted to fit perfectly into your Thermomix steaming basket or steaming tray, allowing you to poach multiple eggs simultaneously with precision and ease. Whether you opt for the Six Egg Poacher or the Four Egg Poacher, both products ensure consistent results every time (and you can even use them at the same time to poach 10 eggs!).

Poaching Eggs in our Four Egg Poacher

  1. Grease egg containers with oil or butter. I like to use olive oil and a pastry brush.
  2. Insert Four Egg Poacher inside TM steaming basket.
  3. Crack eggs into the containers
  4. Add 500g room-temperature water to the TM bowl.
  5. Place steaming basket inside TM bowl.
  6. Set time, temperature and speed according to egg size:
    Size S ~ 10-11 min. VAROMA temperature / speed 1
    Size M ~ 11-12 min. VAROMA temperature / speed 1
    Size L ~ 12-13 min. VAROMA temperature / speed 1
Size XL ~ 14 min. VAROMA temperature / speed 1
  7. After poaching, lift out the steaming basket using the TM spatula and then carefully remove the poaching insert using the finger grips.

Easy as that! And your Thermomix bowl and steaming basket aren't dirty, they're just wet, so simply invert and let dry - no need to wash, which is a serious win. Your Egg Poacher can then go in the dishwasher.

P.S. No need to always poach four eggs - the exact same instructions and settings can be use to poach 1, 2, 3 or 4 eggs at a time :)

Poaching Eggs in our Six Egg Poacher

  1. Add 500g of room-temperature water to the TM bowl.
  2. Place TM lid and Varoma on top of TM bowl.
  3. Insert Six Egg Poacher into the Varoma.
  4. Grease egg containers with oil or butter.  I like to use olive oil and a pastry brush.
  5. Crack eggs into the containers.
  6. Set time, temperature and speed according to egg size:
    Size S ~ 10-11 min. VAROMA temperature / speed 1
    Size M ~ 11-12 min. VAROMA temperature / speed 1
    Size L ~ 12-13 min. VAROMA temperature / speed 1
Size XL ~ 14 min. VAROMA temperature / speed 1
  7. After poaching, remove Varoma lid and take out Six Egg Poacher. See video above for the easiest way to remove! You want to 'roll' the egg out, rather than scooping it out.

Easy as that! And your Thermomix bowl and Varoma aren't dirty, they're just wet, so simply invert and let dry - no need to wash, which is a serious win. Your Egg Poacher can then go in the dishwasher.

P.S. No need to always poach six eggs - the exact same instructions and settings can be use to poach 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 eggs at a time :)
