Thermomix Orange Tea Cakes Recipe

Incredibly moist, these cakes stay fresh and delicious for days! Their cute individual serves make for easy entertaining or convenient lunchbox snacks. Grab a set of our naturally non-stick silicone bar moulds and get baking! 

Makes 12

200g raw sugar
2 oranges, rind only
200g butter, room temperature
3 free-range eggs
80g sour cream
160g plain flour
1.5tsp baking powder
Icing, to serve (optional) 
2 x silicone bar moulds, for baking


  1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
  2. Place sugar and orange rind in TM bowl, mill for 1 minute, speed 9.
  3. Add butter, eggs and sour cream, mix for 1 minute, speed 4.
  4. Add flour and baking powder, mix for 20 seconds, speed 3.
  5. Spoon batter evenly between 12 silicone bar moulds. Bake for 20 minutes, or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.

Allow cakes to cool completely before removing from moulds. Delicious as is, but who doesn’t love frosting? We used a Thermomix maple cream cheese frosting - the recipe is on page 213 of our Thermomix cookbook ‘Thermo Cooker Fresh Favourites’.
