For years our mat was sized for the TM31, TM5 and TM6 Varoma trays, and it has been one of our most-loved accessories. Now there is a bigger version made specifically for the redesigned TM7 Varoma, so TM7 owners get a mat that fits their machine perfectly, with room for an extra serve.

What is new for the TM7
The original mat does work in the TM7, so if you already own it, keep right on cooking with it. The TM7 simply has a larger, redesigned Varoma, so we made a bigger mat to match it. The practical difference is space: you will fit an extra serve on the TM7 mat, which is exactly what you want on a busy weeknight. Both sizes live on the same product page, so you just choose the TM7 variant.
Already have the original mat? There is no need to replace it. Keep using it in any machine, including the TM7. The new TM7 size is there if you want the extra room, on the same Steaming Mat product page.

Whole meals to cook on your mat
The best way to see what the mat can do is to cook with it. A few of my favourites to start with, all free and all made in the Thermomix: my Asian-style salmon rice bowl practically cooks itself, with sushi rice steaming in the bowl while the salmon cooks on the mat above. My easy Thai green prawn curry goes straight from the freezer to the Varoma, and my silky saucy tofu and rice is a lovely meat-free option. For breakfast, the best omelette will change how you think about eggs, and on the busiest nights my easiest fakeaway noodles will sort you out. Every recipe now includes the quantities for both the original mat and the larger TM7 mat, so you just cook to your size.

When your meal is done, the only thing you actually need to wash is the mat itself. Your bowl and Varoma come out wet, not dirty, which is exactly my kind of clean-up.
